Chronic Fatigue Syndrome:
Cracking My Own Code
Welcome! I'm Lizzie, a performing artist and entrepreneur sidelined (for now) by Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS), recently renamed Systemic Exertion Intolerance Disease (SEID), and Chronic Sinusitis. After spending months researching CFS/SEID, from medical articles to personal stories, I've grown to understand that this is no cut-and-dried, one-size-fits-all issue. It's really a category of complex illnesses, and one person's symptom progression and treatment plan may look entirely different from another's. It's a daunting puzzle of confusing symptoms and contradicting experiences.
I am adding my piece to the puzzle.
Here I outline my history with allergies, food intolerances, Chronic Sinusitis, and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. I write about my personalized health plan, where I place a huge emphasis on nutrition as well as rest, exercise, emotional health, and conventional medicine. I let you know which treatments helps me, and which treatments aren't working for me personally. I also post "cheat sheets" to take effort out of clean eating and natural living, even on the bad days. Finally, I'm a Type A addicted to anything remotely resembling lists, productivity, and personal development, so I will be posting a few articles about how I'm working hard to enjoy creating to-do lists, action plans, and even long-term goals while accepting my limitations and allowing plenty of time for flexibility and rest.
If you are searching for answers to CFS and have a history of sinus/allergy issues, candida/fungal infections, or food intolerances, please chime in and comment; let's learn from each other! If this description doesn't quite fit your "version" of CFS, you may be more interested in the more general CFS research articles, coping strategies, and healthy living cheat sheets. Let's don our detective hats and crack the code of our health this year!
