Candida Cleanse: Day 1

The beginning of our detox was successful if not terribly smooth. I'm thrilled that I didn't experience a caffeine headache from quitting coffee, but the antifungals are already doing their job and I'm experiencing more fatigue and mental fog than usual, with some nausea thrown in. But generally, I'm enjoying the food and don't feel deprived. Michelle is experiencing carb cravings and more severe flu-like symptoms, which doesn't come as a surprise, since she went from drinking three cups of coffee a day and eating a much higher carb diet, to suddenly quitting caffeine and most sugar cold-turkey.

The one thing I'm not crazy about is the clay water. We tried drinking it plain, and then we added some lemon juice and a little liquid stevia. The taste isn't really bad, but the thick consistency threw us for a loop. No matter how nicely we dress it up, in the back of our minds, we're still thinking of eating dirt. What a nice way to start the day.
